Development of a network dealing with birds in distress, implemented by means of a DVD.

dvd-lpo41

Three years of work and mobilisation have been necessary in order to realise this film of 40 minutes.

An initiative of the LPO Loir-et-Cher, this film is aimed at veterinarians and rescue centres which work daily to care for wildlife in distress.

It has been achieved with the participation of various technical partners: CEDAF, ONCFS, Les Gouets and the rescue centre ‘ Sauve qui plume’, and is financed by two partners, ERDF and Nature et Découvertes.

Chapter by chapter it gives to professionals the means to bring in the birds and provide the best conditions for giving them first aid: examination, initial clinical actions, details of legislation, etc. The high quality contents could provide a real tool for those intervening in rescue centres and for veterinarians.

Development of a partnership “Oiseaux de nos Fermes et de nos Vignobles” (“Birds of our farms and vineyards”).

This project, begun through the initiative and leadership of Didier Nabon, is in the process of being realised.

The LPO41 keeps in very close contact with the Loir-et-Cher Chamber of Agriculture which uses its skills and experience in organising meetings with the farmers and viticulturists, meetings which have been taking place for several months. We are confident in view of the welcome hospitality that has been given to the project by interested farmers (around thirty so far) during recent presentations.

The objective is to put in place ornithogical trails on the farms involved, in order to recreate the contact between urban and rural dwellers.

We believe that it will be possible to have the project up and running in 2016. This superb project has been brought to fruition by Didier Nabon, Jean-Pierre Martinez and Patrice Margat.
